Auction 2018-February 28th
UPDATE: The Auction and Beer Dinner raised $6,490 this year!!! The first $5,000 will be allocated to our new longterm fundraising goal of a shade canopy for the recess field and the remaining funds will go towards general programming.

The live silent auction will be held before the dinner at McGinty’s from 6:00 to 7:30 on February 28th. ALL are invited to come even if you don’t have a ticket to the dinner! Come and enjoy happy hour and bid away!!

Supper Club is Back in a Simplified Version!
The ever-popular Sligo Creek Education Foundation Supper Club is back!!! Our organization works with local restaurants to make dining out and raising money easy. You get a night off cooking and cleaning, and the restaurant donates a portion of your dinner bill to the Sligo Creek Education Foundation. You also get the benefit of building community. It's a win-win!!! You may opt to dine in or order carry out. Currently we have our final event of the year scheduled on:
Sligo Creek Read-A-Thon 2017
The 2017 Read-a-Thon has come to a class. We raised $6,185.72 . In 2016 we raised $5,650.39. Details of the event are provided below.

Funding & Fundraising
We began this project with $0 in the bank. Through our Supper Clubs and family donations, we’ve been able to raise nearly $6,000. Our plan is to seek donations from local businesses, apply for grants, and continue to do our Supper Club fundraisers with a goal of raising $10,000 this year.

How to Donate
Send a check made payable to the Sligo Creek Education Foundation to 500 Schuyler Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20910 or send an envelope to school marked "Education Foundation."
All donations are gifts made voluntarily to Sligo Creek Education Foundation, a 501( c )(3) charity, with no conditions. Donors receive a tax receipt from Sligo Creek Education Foundation at the time of the donation. Donors who request refunds may not be eligible for tax deductions on their refunded donations.

What does a donation support?
We welcome donations of any size! Every little bit helps us provide special opportunities and enrichment for students and teachers at Sligo Creek Elementary School. Our goal is to raise $10,000 this year by applying for grants, seeking donations from local businesses, our Supper Club fundraisers and donations from families.
This year we are trying to raise money to support these projects (and hopefully more!):
$1200 to support a new student run Newspaper Club
$6500 to support the Outdoor Classroom
Plus additional programming TBD
